Our Bio

As a part of Chappaqua’s community for over 42 years, with a highly regarded reputation for fresh quality foods, exceptional service and four generations with 96 years of experience in the prime meat and specialty food industry, The Chappaqua Village Market has become a household name among Westchester residents.

In today’s world with everyone concerned about the economy, people have been taking short cuts when it comes to food. People need to become more health conscious about the quality of the food they buy when cutting corners at the grocery store. Similar to how you purchase a luxury car for its handling, comfort and safety features, and must use only the highest quality premium gasoline in order to make it run properly; it is healthier and more cost-effective to buy fresh high-quality foods and cook them at home.

We know you’ll love and appreciate our fine market, built on the traditional values of providing only the highest-quality fresh gourmet foods, our impeccable knowledge of food, and individual service that is extinct in today’s society.

“Old fashioned” is exactly what we are. As a family-owned business for over 42 years, we are very proud of our reputation in Chappaqua for highest-quality prime meats, fresh fish daily (including live lobsters), crisp produce, morning-fresh specialty baked goods, over 200 cooked & prepared foods and exceptional individual service…and we intend to keep it that way for many more years to come. In a frozen-food world, we have remained “old-fashioned” in that we still have fresh prime-hanging meat, use fresh ingredients to make our prepared foods from scratch, and 100 year old biscotti recipes from my great-grandmother. Not to mention our extensive line of gourmet groceries, pate`, caviar, and over 125 different cheeses from around the world. We even provide a local delivery service and our EZ Drive-Up ‘n’ Pick-Up Service!

Let our reputation speak for itself! Some of our recent awards and recognitions include:

“Best Old Fashioned Market” in the 2007 issue of Best of Westchester Magazine

“Best Biscotti” in September 2008 by Westchester Magazine

-Several years ago, we were selected from a pool of over 200 stores in the tri-state area, to be featured on a show called “Follow that Food” on the USA Food Network. The show, about an estate olive oil company from Italy, follows the olive from the tree, to the pressing, to the bottling, to the delivery to our store and finally to the home of one of our customers who purchased the oil and prepared a homemade entrée with it.

-We’ve also been featured in numerous articles in local newspapers over the years.

If you have not yet shopped in our fine store, we would like to invite you to come down and visit our gourmet store, so that we can give you a personal tour and tell you more about our history, recipes and service.

Buon Appetito!
